Mommy and her Little Man

I walked into the room and found this picture. It was too good to pass up. Enjoy :)

Hannah and I are in South Dakota for Christmas holidays. I am planning to return to Provo on Tuesday, but Hannah will stay in Rapid City for another nine days. Vacation so far has been delectably relaxing. I've eaten more and done less in these two weeks than the past few months combined. It's lovely. Our little man is healthy, happy, and heavier every time I pick him up. There is no better time than Christmas

Unexpected Service at the Hospital

Yesterday while I was volunteering at the hospital, a man approached me as I was leaning against the wall waiting for my next task from the ER personnel and asked me whether there was anyone around that could help him administer a blessing. At first I thought of all the privacy and legal concerns regarding religion in a public place like the hospital, and I wondered whether it would be smart to offer to help him. But then I thought, "This is something good to do, so oh well," and I said, "You mean, are you just looking for anyone who holds the priesthood?" He responded "Yes, I just need someone to anoint." So I told him that I could help with that, and he showed me to the room where I proceeded to anoint his relative. During the wonderful blessing he offered, I couldn't help but think how this blessing was probably the most useful service I had rendered at the hospital. For the patients, all the CAT scans, MRIs, x-rays, and ultrasounds were important. All the doctors working for the patients were critical. But administering a Priesthood blessing was perhaps the most important help I could offer. What a blessing to me, as well as the patient who received the blessing.
